books everybody should read → the chaos walking trilogy by patrick ness
what’s it about: set in a dystopian world where living creatures are able to hear each other’s thoughts through words, images and sound that’s known as noise. the novels are centred around two children, todd and viola who are confronted by a number of issues as their world erupts into war.
why you should read it: i haven’t been hit with such an emotional sucker punch since i read harry potter. i particularly loved these books for their focus on the unclear distinction between good and evil and their discussion of morality in war.
choices may be hard but they’re never impossible. to say you have no choice is to release yourself from responsibility and that’s not how a person with integrity acts.
